Don't Let Your Gas Tank Get Too Low in The Winter

Sometimes we forget and let our gas tank run close to empty. We should periodically add to the fuel levels, even if it is a little at a time to keep the level at more than half-full. There are rumors that keeping your tank low will help fuel economy, but there is really nothing to that rumor at all.

In the winter when it gets colder, it is better to keep your gas tank as full as possible. When your gas tank is low, there is more air in your tank which can encourage condensation to occur. There is moisture in the air, so if there is an abundance in your gas tank, it can filter on up into the fuel line and cause freezing.

If there is too much condensation, it can be difficult to start your car and keep it running. Just keeping an eye on your fuel levels can go a long way in helping to maintain your vehicle in good running condition during the cold winter.
